The steel chimney flue was polished prior to being put away until next winter.

The remainder of the spare water was emptied into the tank before going with Gaia to the chandlery to fill. With Gaia’s tank holding 600ltrs, it took ages.

There have been many more boats moving recently, many of the leisure boat owners in contravention of the CRT guidelines it has to be said. The canal has been occasionally turning green with algae. However, there is a lot of life in the water and the last few days we have been seeing thousands of newly hatch fish fry, clouds of them.

Paul and Dawn passed by en-route from Middlewich to Nantwich. It was good to see them and to hear that Paul's business is OK. He started a boat fitting business at the Middlewich Narrowboat site just as the lock-down started and we had been worried for him.

We all had Sunday roast dinner outside before Danny left to collect Jacob from Barbridge.

We have been at Syke’s Hollow for the whole month, moving just once, to the chandlery for water and emptying of the loo. The engine has been run for just 14.7 hours during the month mainly for hot water and recovering ditched glider planes and fishing lures.
