The front cratch was given a second coat of oil. Looking really smart but impossible to keep the bugs off in this nice weather.

The top bow fender was finished and work started on the bottom one. Jacob helped with the pulling through of the ropes and we made a game of it. I taught him how to tie the continuous crowning knots and couldn’t believe how quickly he not only picked it up, but also retained it as he was still able to tie the knot in the evening. Remarkable kids’ brains are, like a sponge. It took me ages to learn.

Gaia went up to the marina to empty their loo. There were a lot of boats moving and we were feared for them losing their spot. However, most boats had come out of the marina for the day and winded before reaching us.

We reckon a lot of boats now, will be begrudging us stopping here. It is a popular spot, especially for the marina dwellers emerging for the weekend, and they will be wanting us to move on. We have been seeing many more boats coming out of Aqueduct Marina for the day, contravening CRT guidelines. The Middlewich boat passed by on his return. He boasted that he has been out every weekend of the lock-down, because he had been told he couldn’t! This trip he had been to Whitchurch, 28 miles each way, and he is not the only one travelling.

However, if Dominic Cummings can do what he did, in his position, how can anybody complain. A senior Government advisor and author of the lock-down, travelling hundreds of miles to be close to family. With the Government supporting his actions, it is fascinating to watch a political party commit suicide.

We still think it is too early to be forced to move and are staying put, probably until Thursday when we will leave for Calveley to dispose of the rubbish and head towards Middlewich, taking a few weeks getting there and just see if there is a second peak in Corona Virus deaths as expected.

There seems to be trouble with the Amazon Fire Stick we use to watch TV. We have not been able to watch TV for a few weeks now, the screen, after just a few minutes, shows a box ‘No Signal’. We thought it was Gaia using the band width, but we still didn’t get a signal when they were at the service point. Brenda followed the troubleshooting instructions but to no avail. We will have to get another it seems.

Danny and myself took Jacob off for an explore in the ‘woods’, while Brenda made Cornish Pasties for us all for dinner. Much enjoyed.

We had great fun in the evening, flying Jacob’s plane and numerous other games, before Jacob went to bed and we sat around the fire, chatting again.
