The cabin side was waxed and polished. Brenda had a sort out along with a visit to the rubbish disposal. The paint locker was reorganised and the engine bay sorted through, which meant another rubbish run. We had hoped to blacken the hull side but the bank is too high so it will have to wait.

We have the ‘Cheese Boat’ behind us and all through the day he had his fire on and was filling our boat with smoke. When we complained he reckoned he was burning just coal but it smelt more like paper and rubbish burning. It wasn’t pleasant at all.

In the afternoon we walked around Fradley Pools followed by another visit to the Swan where we got talking with a group of locals and local moorers. Despite the rain, it made for a good afternoon. Everybody has a story.

The evening was spent watching TV before the set cut out due to low voltage, and an early bed.

Weather: a pleasant day but rain in the afternoon.
