We continued the cruise with Aaron, after first winding, across both
Avoncliffe and Dundas Aqueducts, to Claverton, where we turned. Aaron, again, successfully,
did most of the steering including across the aqueducts. A privilege for him. We
had a shepherd’s crook type plant hanger that we used to hang bird feeders off
and I had left it at Claverton. We were hoping it would still be there, but it
was long gone.
We stopped off at Dundas and walked up the long disused Somersetshire
Coal Canal to its terminus, now just ¼ mile from the junction, where there
is a hire base, a long line of private moorings and a café. We sat and had an
ice cream before returning to the boat.
Then it was back to Bradford where we were lucky to moor back on the
nice 48 hour moorings again.
