We cleaned the boat throughout and waited for Mick and Pip to arrive. Harvey was taken for quite a long walk to tire him out a little. We intend leaving him on the boat. We have only done this three times since moving on board and each time was in the evening.

Mick and Pip turned up at midday and we walked up to meet them, spreading treats around the boat for Harvey. We were hoping to eat in the restaurant in the basin so we wouldn’t be far away, but hadn’t booked and they were full.

A quick internet search found a restaurant a mile away that was dog friendly so we collected the dog, who was quiet and asleep, and went in Mick and Pip’s car. This was only the third time we had been in a car since ours was sold.

We had a nice enough Sunday lunch in the Oat Hill before returning to the boat. Mick and Pip stayed a while before they set off for home about 45 minutes away. It was good to meet them. Although only the second time we have met them, they are good company.

The boats that were here when we arrived on Friday have all moved on within their 48-hour slot. It will be interesting to see if we get charged for over-staying.
