The outside fire had stayed in overnight and was soon rekindled back into life and then stayed alight all day. Terry and Sonia left just after 9am and cruised up to Venetian, Danny then taking them to collect their car at the Shady Oak, dumping everybody’s rubbish at Calveley en-route. They then went into Nantwich to do everybody’s shopping. We will be ever grateful for this. It saves us a shopping trip ourselves, an experience we haven’t been enjoying that has meant at least a three-day trip and a lot of carrying of heavy shopping.

We ran the engine for hot water and had showers. Brenda then spent time with Jessica and her study with Jess staying on our boat to continue. She is in her final year of University and working on an essay.

I gave the back doors a further couple of coats of Omron. They look and feel really good. More like the lacquer finish than a varnish.

More foraging for wood took place with Danny and, once Beccles returned Gaia went to Venetian for water, taking our empty containers with them. Again we are grateful. This will mean us not having to move for water for an extra few days. A right little community we have going, all becoming friends with it.

With Jacob out of way, work was done organising a surprise birthday party for him. I was so excited, love a party. During lock-down, Jacob lives with his dad during the week, going back to his mum, an NHS worker, at weekends. He is 7-years-old on 23rd but he had mentioned to Sonia that it would be nice to have an early birthday party with us all. The table was set with a table cloth and party poppers, Terry made home-made Pizzas to order, hhhmmm, and Garlic Bread, while Brenda made Prawns and Garlic Potatoes and a salad. There were also party sausages and, a Birthday Cake.

Jacob had a great time with the food and games afterwards, tick, a ball game and flying his glider. He seems to regard us all almost as family. Certainly he is very at ease with us all for a 6-year-old and even calls Brenda Nanny B as she reminds him of his own Nan, which is nice.

Everybody had early nights as they had all had late ones the night before, so I came in and watched all of Danny and Jemima’s vlogs. Some incredible aerial footage from Danny’s drone.
