Just after we moored yesterday, Susan rang to say the rope had been
delivered and so we walked up to collect the two drums, 50m of 8mm and 50m of
10mm.
Harvey was clipped in the afternoon, using my hair clippers which are
much quieter, vibrate less and so stress him out a lot less.
We then sat and chatted to a succession of people walking past and
before we knew it, the day had gone.
Although the day had been warm after a damp and chilly start, the late
afternoon turned chilly after the last few days of rain and overcast skies. So
we adjourned to the front cratch for a few drinks before yet another lovely
dinner with a starter of wild mushrooms with a pepper sauce and a steak main
course with home-made chips and fresh salad.
We had noticed a definitive growth spurt in the grass with the recent
rain and the trees are much greener. However, the canal has also turned green
with algae, very unhealthy looking. With the warmth lately and the lack of
boats to churn the water and oxygenate it, this was always going to happen. Hopefully,
it will not have an effect on the fish.
