We spent a quiet morning and Val called early afternoon. Late afternoon we walked to Lower Bridge Street and had a pint in the Falcon followed by a few pints in the Boot Inn on the Rows above Eastgate Street.

The Falcon is an impressive black and white building which is the surviving half of a 12th century Medieval Town House and The Boot Inn was built in the early to middle part of the 17th century, opening as an inn in 1643.

Both pubs are absolutely full of character, especially the Boot. They are Samuel Smiths pubs and extremely cheap, £3.15 for a pint of bitter and ½-a-Lager. What makes them even more unique is neither allow the use of any electronic devices, mobile phones included. Unfortunately, with this ban, no photographs could be taken which was a real shame, but if only walls could talk.
