Brenda had her own adventures while I was away. She met with other boaters who continuously cruise the K&A Canal and visited a local launderette a few times. Harvey visited the vets for his annual injections and a check-up. This coincided with another trip to the launderette, this time in the evening, when she saw a whole new side to life. The place is used by the homeless. While it is attended during the day, the owner feels he has to keep it open in the evening for people working during the day, to use.

I meantime visited the Somerset Record Office in Taunton and several churches and villages I had uncovered during my research. Litton, East Harptree, Cameley and Hinton Blewitt, all within a few miles of each other, but where this family lived for over 300 years. In St. Margaret’s Churchyard in Hinton Blewitt, I discovered the only grave I found. Thomas Harris, my 5 x Great Grandfather, who died in 1829, aged 107!
