Today was a day of almost continuous rain, heavy at times. We spent most of the day on board apart from a short walk through the town that was curtailed by a thunderstorm.

The gravel barges pass from 7:3am until 4pm with a regularity, a round trip for a barge takes an hour and one passes about every 15 minutes.

At 8pm another boat arrived having travelled downstream from Stourport. The 22 miles and 4 locks took him less than 6hours, the flow in the river is a lot faster than yesterday with rain overnight and all day today. The boat eventually breasted alongside us, but the guy had an awful job coming alongside and panicked somewhat.

Weather: rain and thunderstorms.
