We had left Fradley Junction last Sunday and were excited because we saw this as the start of this years’ cruising. However, we only got as far as Fradley village 1½ miles away, worked on the boat, and today have returned to the junction. It is beginning to seem we will never get away. Our water was getting low and there is no water point beyond Fradley until Fazeley Junction.

Brenda is waiting on a prescription that is not due to arrive until Monday and the power lead on the TV failed on us. We have ordered a new one but that is not being delivered until Tuesday or Wednesday. So here we remain. While there are worse places, we are becoming a bit stare crazy and looking forward to moving on.

Both the prescription and the cable are being delivered to the boatyard at Streethay Wharf just over 3 miles down the canal. Once they have been received we will then move on.

We were a bit concerned that this would mean us overstaying as once you have stayed for the maximum time at a place you are not supposed to return for 4 weeks. Brenda rang CRT to explain but they told us we were last recorded at Polesworth on the 27th February. Amazing we haven’t been seen since.

At the junction we again reversed down the lock to the service point, watered, emptied the loo and dumped rubbish, then crossed the canal and moored up in exactly the same spot we left last week.

We went to the Swan for our dinner and then sat in the front cratch watching the world go by. This is a very busy spot for people watching the boats and there were many boats going about. Mainly out of marinas for the weekend. It seems the silly season is upon us.

Weather: a nice pleasant day although colder than it seemed.

Day Total: 1 lock; 1½ miles; 0 Tunnels; 1 Swing Bridge; 0 Boat Lift; engine running hours 1.4

Overall Total: 351 locks; 766 miles; 32 tunnels; 10 Swing Bridges; 2 Boat Lifts; engine running hours 490.7
