Brenda walked into Alrewas to the butcher we had been hearing good things
about. She came back with loads of lovely looking meat. And far too much in
weight to be carrying back that distance.
I eventually got the printer working so now can continue with the
family history files. Then checked the engine bay. There is a little water
under the engine but it is possible this was a bit that had been missed when it
was wiped up the other day. It is very difficult to properly reach under the
engine.
I took the dog for a walk and on the way back there was a boat that
had attempted to wind in the junction and had got himself firmly wedged between
each side of the canal. With a lot of tugging and pushing between us, we managed
to get him free ……. only for him to do exactly the same. I left him to it.
We started a wash and had another delivery from Asda. So efficient. Once
the wash was finished we moved across to the water point. There was a
time-share boat sitting on it with their hose connected but the valve not
turned on. Very naughty. This water point is slow enough anyway. Eventually they
filled with water and only then decided to look for the rubbish disposal. I was
not best pleased.
After watering etc, we passed through the junction lock and turned
onto the Coventry Canal again, passing through the swing bridge. Hopefully now, this will see us on own way. A very slow cruise
took us once again, to the moorings at Fradley village. On the way we noticed
the old hangers from RAF Lichfield, and there are many of them. Once you know what
to look for they are easily spotted through the trees.
I did the cooking tonight. A Yorkshire pud filled with left over brisket
and veggies with brisket stock gravy. I only ever follow a recipe to the
letter, but it was delightful. Even Brenda was impressed.
