It was a foul day today, gales and heavy rain until late afternoon. I mastered the Turks Head Knot, very pleased at that, always good when you start to learn a new skill. The painting on the roof tools is finished at last but we want Turks Heads on them as decoration. They are becoming very personalised which was the aim. It’ll be a shame to use them though.

Once the weather had improved I went to show Karen at Tradline the knot and also bought more rope for Turks Head’s for the tiller. Then up to the chandlers to buy morse cables for throttle and gear to have on board as spares. It would be a shame to become stranded for the sake of a simple job like this. It was always the intention to have a spares stock on board. While the gear cable was straightforward enough as the identification was still legible, the throttle wasn’t. Has bought a G8 9Ft which looks to be right.

We walked up and had a few pints in the Wheatsheaf and bought fish and chips on the way back. A rare treat.
