I took the dog for a long walk, we intend leaving him on the boat when we go out with Martin and Michelle. We walked to Market Bosworth Water Park. A collection of lakes with sailing, canoeing and all manner of water sports. Also some fishing lakes and one is set up as a shallow paddling pool with a sandy beach around it. Must be a nice, busy place in the summer although parking fees are hefty at £2 per hour at peak times.

Martin and Michelle had seen me returning to the boat and had followed. It was good to see them as it is with all visitors and we much appreciate the effort and the journey to see us.

We didn’t muck about with tea or coffee and went straight out and up to Market Bosworth. There are three pubs in the village and we had a drink in all three and a nice lunch in the first. The last pub was more of a restaurant/wine bar and, with four pints, we were perhaps a little out of place. While in this pub the heavens absolutely opened with torrential rainfall. Not a nice prospect with a mile walk ahead of us. Luckily it passed.

After some shopping we headed back. It was becoming dark. We must get into the habit of taking torches with us.

Brenda had made a stew on the stove which went down a treat. There then followed an evening, into the morning, of drinking, games, talking and a lot of fun.
