Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd December 2018

We walked up to the village to meet Aaron at 9:30 and arrived at the High Street just in time, we thought, to see him arriving. He had arrived some time earlier and had been to the marina, couldn’t find us, and so again drove to the village to meet us as arranged. He was just 50 yards from the boat when he was at the marina.

After the strange experience of being transported at 60 mph, we arrived at South Cerney at 11am to be met by Sarah at their house. After unpacking and a brew we went for a long walk. It is a lovely village and a lovely area they live in; the Cotswolds Water Park is just a few hundred yards from their house. Brenda had a bath with Prosecco and bubbles that Sarah had got for her. She had been looking forward to that bath for weeks. We went out for dinner at their local pub.

Sunday, after breakfast, we went into Cirencester, the nearest town, for shopping and a mooch. Aaron cooked dinner, venison and rabbit casserole. Very tasty.

We had really enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to see Aaron and Sarah again and their new home, we don’t see enough of them. Our stay was over all too soon. Sarah went to work early Monday morning and Aaron brought us back, leaving at 10am. It seemed a long return journey.

We were pleasantly surprised when entering the boat, having left her for two days, it still smelt new.
