Although it had only been two weeks since Harvey was last clipped, we decided to do it again as neither of us were really happy about his last cut. He was showered, not an easy task, brushed and once dried, clipped. This time his back was cut with no guard on the clippers and the result is much better.

We then went through the CRT list of winter stoppages and they are going to really affect our plans. Every year the CRT post a list of stoppages for maintenance. The stoppages begin on 5th November this year. We had been planning to head for Gloucester via Leicester, Braunston, Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon and Tewksbury. However, there are stoppages at Warwick from 5th November until 14th December and the Stratford Canal is closed from 7th January until mid-March, so we are having to change our plans.

From Braunston, many of the routes will be closed, so we plan to over-winter between Braunston, Coventry and Fradley Junction and continue to Gloucester next year, possibly through Birmingham.

Brenda spent her afternoon putting washing out in the front cratch on a maiden we bought, works well, and turning up a pair of activity trousers I bought. I did a few bits and pieces but have felt headachy all day so not done a great deal.

This evening, although on shore power, the lights have been flickering so the batteries are obviously getting worse. Hopefully tomorrow the new ones will arrive, Alex fit them and that should see the problem cured.
