After the rain yesterday evening and during the night, it was much cooler today. We moved down to the boat lift at Anderton and winded and had a very slow cruise back to Marston. All two miles of it.

We were both really fed up today and have decided, if Sandra puts off the repairs again, we are just going to forget about them and move on. After all, everything is now working and the jobs Sandra is doing is more for peace of mind and a few alterations to make the boat more efficient electrically. It is now almost a month since these jobs were first spoken about and since then we have moved no more than a day from Northwich.

We had a few hours organising, rearranging and tidying things on the boat. A few little jobs.

And then we went the pub.

We came back to the boat for a few hours and then went back to the pub for our dinner and watched the Earl of Stamford Morris Dancers in the carpark. Very entertaining. There is something very English about Morris dancing.

Brenda spoke to Sandra this evening and we are on for our repairs, so it's off to Orchard Marina again tomorrow. Hopefully they won't take too long.

I did a calculation today. The route to Gloucester, down the Trent and Mersey taking in the Caldon Canal. The Erewash Canal. The River Soar and the Grand Union Leicester Line. The Grand Union Main Line. Stratford Canal and Rivers Avon and Severn, is 323 miles long and involves 300 locks. The distance is 623 lock/miles which equates to 208 hours.

Epic.

Day Total: 0 locks; 3 miles; 0 Tunnels; engine running hours 1.0

Overall Total: 99 locks; 196 miles; 8 tunnels; engine running hours 113.5
