We had a
breakfast of kippers and poached egg on toast. Hmmm. Kippers from the market in
Lymm.
I then went into the engine room to investigate the noises we had been
hearing the day before. It turned out to be plastic and weed around the
propeller, easily sorted.
Ethan texted to say he was about an hour away and we had arranged to
meet him at the Red Lion in Moore. So we set off to cruise less than a mile,
moored up and headed for the pub. It was good to meet up with Ethan again. He
was headed to Wales to wild camp on the summit of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia
with some friends and called on us on his way down.
After a few pints we went back to the boat and set off for a cruise to
Preston Brook and back to give Ethan a boating experience. We winded in the
Runcorn Arm and returned to Moore, with Ethan doing most of the steering. Took
photos of him steering on his phone, so when he gets a few minutes he’ll have
to send us a copy.
Then it was back to the pub for our dinner.
Showing Ethan around the boat and we found the engine room full of
about 4ins of water. There was no more water coming in, so it’s something to
investigate in the morning.
Today the house at St. Annes Road completed and there is more money in
the bank. But it does mean that there is no going back and we are officially of
no fixed abode.
We wish Nick, Michelle and little Ollie well in the house and hope
they have happy times there.
