Friday 13th July 2018

It rained all night and into the morning. Only a light rain but at least this should do some good rather than just running off the dry ground. This is only the second time we have seen rain since moving onto the boat in May.

At 8.30 a mooring came free at Bramble Cutting so we quickly moved all of 200 yards up the canal and claimed it for the next few days. Peace and quiet, there are worse places to be while we wait on Sandra. Already, Bramble Cutting has become a favourite place.

Brenda set too starting to cover the porthole bungs. I properly wired up the TV aerials, fitted the booster and wired in the strip lighting for the front cratch.

Harvey and Penquin had a rest day.

It looked to be coming on to storm in the late afternoon but we chanced a barbeque anyway. We seem to be eating out al-fresco a lot more on the boat than ever we did at home and are putting it down to  Jane across the canal at St Annes spoiling the place for us.

The storm came to nothing.

Day Total: 0 locks; 0 miles; 0 Tunnels; engine running hours 1.3 (mainly to warm the water)

Overall Total: 99 locks; 185 miles; 8 tunnels; engine running hours 107.5
